La Reconquista: Mexican direct investment in the US

Between 2006 and 2011, Mexican companies invested $8.4 billion dollars in the US. This contradicts the idea that Mexican economic growth is based solely on foreign investors manufacturing cheap industrial goods for export in the border towns. FDI is flowing in both directions.
